As far as our rooms we pretty much have something for everyone. From small and economical to large suites with fireplace and jacuzzi and a few choices in between. In all, we have 18 rooms spread through three buildings. 12 of the rooms are in the main building. Of those 12, ten are traditional inn rooms. That's a nice way of saying they're small, and while they do all have their own bathroom(some have a bathtub, some just a stall shower), they do not have televisions. In addition, most are located on the second floor so a flight of stairs will probably be necessary. If you're looking for a clean, quaint room at a reasonable price the inn rooms will work just fine. If you're looking for a room with a little more space to move around, a TV and fireplace, you just need to look a little further down the page. The other two rooms in the main building are significantly larger. The Master Bedroom is on the ground floor, just on your right as you enter the inn. It has a hardwood queen canopy bed, a gas fireplace and a sitting area with a small couch and TV. The Gables Suite is probably our most nicely appointed room. All of the furniture is solid cherry, made for us by Vermont Furniture Works. There's a corner jacuzzi tub large enough for two, wide plank pine floors and a great gas fireplace. It's on the second floor, so it does require a flight of stairs. We never call ourselves a luxury inn, but The Gables Suite is most people's idea of a luxury inn room. The building just to the left of the main building is called the Carriage House. There are 4 rooms here; 3 have one king bed, and one has one queen and one double. Though it resembles the main building in style it is more than 100 years newer, constructed in the late 1980s. These rooms are all large and have TV's, and wood fireplaces. The three rooms with a king also have whirlpool jets in the bathtub. Maybe not quite as nice as the freestanding jacuzzis in the Gables Suite or the Riverview Suites, but certainly relaxing tubs. These are spacious and comfortable rooms and also offer a little more privacy than the rooms in the inn as you enter directly from the outside rather than walking into the inn to get to your room. Our largest rooms are in a building about 100 yards down the road, and they are called our Riverview Suites. These are full one bedroom suites. Walk in and you're in the the living room, with a wood fireplace, two small couches, a dining area and cable TV. In the bedroom there's a king bed, double jacuzzi and that same wood fireplace(it's two sided and located on the wall that divides the rooms). There's also an alcove with a refrigerator, microwave and hand sink; not full kitchen facilities but you can certainly use it to warm up food and keep your beverages cool. When people ask us to describe these suites the best description we can come up with is it's like having half of a nice country house to yourself. The suites can accommodate families up to 4 with the kids on Aerobeds; they're spacious and airy, a great place to spread out after a day exploring the Green Mountains. One of the questions we're asked most frequently is if pets are allowed at the inn. While we are not able to accommodate them in our main building, well behaved pets are very welcome in the Carriage House rooms and Riverview Suites. The charge is $10 per night. Smoking is prohibited in all of our rooms and in all indoor areas of the inn.
